I am hoping to create a group show for February, with the tentative theme of "Love in all its Forms"
I want to showcase talents from many different disciplines and was imagining having paintings, mixed media, and photography on the wall...
but also having an opening and closing night with spoken word, music, performers of various natures, and possibly some video-poems or the like. The first night would set the tone of excitement for the rest of the month and the closing night would be a grand hurrah to say goodbye to the pieces and a last chance for folks to buy art.
The visual artists would likely be keen on just having their art on the wall, but maybe there could there be a hat passed or a cover to help show our appreciation for the talents and time of peformers on the opening and closing night.
If anyone interested in participating or helping create such an event, get a hold of me.
I am eyeing Rhizome as a location, but am open to suggestions.
